Virtual Hockey Tournament

Looking for something to do while you are stuck indoors? Virtually join other Prevent Blindness Wisconsin supporters to raise money for sight-saving services while playing NHL 20 on PS4. 

Donate $50 to Prevent Blindness Wisconsin to secure your registration. To participate, players must register by noon on Sunday, April 19. (Registration is limited to 32 participants. If there is more interest, we may create two brackets).

A bracket will be emailed by mid-afternoon on Monday, April 20 including username and contact information for participants. Participants will reach out to their opponents and schedule a time to play.

Winner will receive a Prevent Blindness Wisconsin leather duffle valued over $200. 

Rules:

  • Single elimination tournament style play.
  • Teams may get a first-round bye depending on the number of registered participants.
  • Bracket will be drafted randomly to determine opponent. The winner will advance until a champion is determined. 
  • Each team will randomize their team three times and will pick one of the three teams to play with. Players may use the same team as their opponent, Home team will make the the first team selection.
  • Home team will be predetermined for the first round, all other rounds Home teams will be determined by the most goals in the previous matchup(s), tiebreaker will be goals scored on your team in previous matchups. If needed, final tiebreaker will be seeding number will be used.
  • Game OT will be golden goal continuous OT.
  • Mutually agreed upon international matchups will be allowed.
  • Standard online game settings will be used.
  • Participants will post a picture of the final score tagging Prevent Blindness Wisconsin on Instagram (PreventBlindnessWisconsin) with the winner noted.

Game Schedule (subject to change):

  • First round(s) game(s) will be played on Monday, April 20 after 5:30 pm CST
    • Entire tournament will be played if less than 10 teams
  • Second round(s) game(s) will be played on Tuesday, April 21 after 5:30 pm CST
    • Entire tournament will be played if less than 20 teams
  • Tournament will conclude on Wednesday, April 22 if more than 20 teams register.
